Some of us face a new work week with an attitude of "Bring it on!" some of us are dragging our feet and looking toward Friday already. No matter which situation you find yourself in, Monday seems like a good time to take a closer look at what we learned at church this weekend about wisdom at work and Momentum Reality. As followers of Christ we are given the charge in Colossians 3:23 which says "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord..." If we view our jobs as though we are working for the Lord, it changes everything!!! By working hard and staying diligent, by working without complaints or excuses, by operating with excellence no matter what our position, we bring God glory! It has some great side benefits too:
Every job is different and we may have varying degrees of responsibility but each and every one who calls themselves a Christian should bring honor to God in the way we carry out our work. Continuing the momentum in our work life is a testimony to God's glory and is pleasing to Him. Do:Look at your work habits today. Are you working with excellence and with diligence? If so, keep at it. If not, take the Colossians charge and find renewed purpose working "as if you are working for the Lord". Pray: Jesus, I want to honor you in all I do. I pray today that my work would bring glory to You. Help me to work hard, to be diligent and to work in a way that reflects well on You. Thank you that what I do matters to You! Amen.
