Read: I John 1: 5-10; John 10:10; Hebrews 10:22-25 Think: Let’s face it, every good comeback has to start with first knowing that we need one! Sounds kind of obvious but we all know people who just move through life without realizing how much better it could be. Sometimes its us and we’re in a season where we drift from our faith, from our church family, and from what we know is God’s best for us. And its time to make a comeback and get on track with Jesus! We’ve talked about the idea that God is only a half turn away - no matter how far we find ourselves from Him… All it takes is the desire to change directions and turn toward the One who loves us completely. The great comeback! It all starts by getting real with ourselves and assessing where we are spiritually. There’s no perfect way to do this but maybe we could start with some time alone and a few questions to consider: How I live matters - Am I doing anything that dishonors or offends God? Is my life honoring to Christ? My relationships matter - Have I been treating others like I want to be treated? Am I loving? Do I put others needs before mine? Am I staying close with people who help keep me close to Jesus? What I think about makes a difference - How’s my thought life? Am I thinking about things that honor God and honor myself? This isn’t an complete list but hopefully can get us on that right track back to drawing close to the Father and enjoying the relationship with Him that He so desires! Do: If you feel the Holy Spirit showing you anything that is keeping you from Jesus, take care of it today! Confess where you’re going wrong - your sins - and know that God forgives and wants to restore your relationship with Him. Then get with someone who is a follower of Christ and make a plan to deal with the areas that were brought out. Pray: God, I want to stay as close to you as possible. Show me anything that’s standing in the way of my relationship with You. I want to come back to You and to the life You want for me. In Jesus’ name, amen
