Think: Pastor Ben posed a very challenging question this weekend; is Jesus enough? Will we trust if we don’t get what we want? The problem of jealousy as Pastor Ben taught us comes from a heart that wants more.
Most of the Christians I’ve met have at some point in their lives struggled. It seems to be part of our growth process and maturing to be brought to a point where we must understand and know the answer to that question. It can be a challenge to our health, our family, an unexpected death or our finances.
King David was a man after God’s own heart and yet he lost his kingdom, most of his family, hid in caves from his many enemies and uses the term over and over in the Psalms “I will not be shaken”. Hebrews 12:26-28 talks about “…that what cannot be shaken may remain” and goes on to promise that we have access to a kingdom that cannot be shaken.
I have been brought to this point in divorce, two instances of cancer, deliverance from prescription drug addiction, 16 months of unemployment, senseless death of young family members. I can say Jesus is enough.
Do: Write down all the circumstances in your life that have proved to you Jesus is enough.Pray: Father, thank You for Your Son, You are our alpha and omega, everything we need, You will not leave us or forsake us, You are closer than a brother, You are enough. Amen
