Think: Everybody develops habits- some good and some bad. Personally, I have a habit of biting my nails, which ultimately leads to bad hygiene.  I developed this habit because it was something to do during boredom and well, I was bored quite frequently and now I naturally feast on my nails at any dead-time.

This makes me believe that it’s easy to build habits and very difficult to break them.  If this is the case, why not develop habits that are healthy and life giving? Why not develop habits that will strengthen your relationships with friends, family and others around you?

These healthy habits can and should begin at the home. Moms and dads- start building spiritual habits now. You can start by; praying together, reading the bible together, have conversations about how God talked to you for the day, etc.

As you do this together regularly, it will begin turning into a habit or a better way of putting it- a way of life!

Do: Sit together as a family for dinner, at least, 3 times this week. Before dinner, pray. During dinner, talk about how God has been involved in their lives.

Pray: God, please help our family to know you more.  Remind us of our need for you as a family and show us how to best express that to one another.

The eDevotional is written each week by a team of volunteers from Timberlake Church.
