READ: Romans 12

THINK: Yesterday’s devotional talked about how God created you as a unique masterpiece because he has a specific purpose for your life – a specific and unique role that only you can fulfill. It is the specific mission God has given you to do for him on this earth.

Most of us tend to define our contribution in life by what we tell ourselves, by what others tell us or by God's truth. When we let our own perceptions guide our life, we run the risk of being victim to our own bias and inability to see ourselves accurately. When we let others tell us what we should be doing, we live to please them and win their approval. BUT, when we let God’s truth define us, submitting to his authority and seeking to please him, we are able to lead a life of significance, fulfillment, and have eternal impact.

With this encouragement, challenge yourself to invest in God’s kingdom in a way that will last long after you are gone. Be a contributor, not just a consumer. For some people that means finding out what God’s call is on our lives, for others it means risking and stepping out and serving Him in a new way, maybe to the point of trading in a career for a full-time ministry. For all of us who follow Christ, it means that we will let God use us to impact eternity and leave a heavenly legacy on earth.

DO: Seek God's direction today on what His call is on your life... Sit quietly with Him, seeking to hear His voice and listening for what He wants you to do to start (or continue) the heavenly legacy He wants to leave through you.

PRAY: God, You have planted the desire within me to make a difference with my life. I ask that you show me what you've planned for me to make an impact for You in this world. Show me how you want to use me, then help me to do what you ask! In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
