The churches desire was to have a place for kids to run around and play outside but the water required to grow grass there would cost hundreds of dollars per month. They found and dug a well on their church property that will provide what their grass needs. In John 4:10 Jesus tells the woman at the well that she could have living water and thirst no more. Before I called out to Jesus over 33 years ago, my life was a desert too. I was addicted to prescription drugs, my marriage was over and I’d lost all hope for happiness. But when I received Him and the infilling of His Holy Spirit I found a well within me that brought healing and restoration. In John 7:37-39 Jesus describes the Holy Spirit as a river of living water coming out of our hearts. In Genesis 2:5 God made man from the dirt and breathed life into him. Jesus came and added the living water that like the well on Pastor John’s church property provides us a constant source of living water for our lives and to pour out on others. Do: Identify the deserts in your life or in the lives of the ones you love. Write them down. Pray: Father, I know You are the source of living water, I pray that You pour out that water in me and on the deserts in my life and restore them. Amen. The eDevotional is written each week by a team of volunteers from Timberlake Church. |
